6. Flowers on the Table and Sunlight Through the Windows- One of my resolutions this year was to buy fresh flowers for the house once a month. I'm not talking expensive arrangements, I'm talking about the wildflowers at Wal-mart for $9.99. I love having flowers around, especially in the Spring and Summer. I haven't lived up to this resolution yet because we have had sickness in our house and it is still just too cold outside! I am ready to have flowers on the table and sunlight through the windows!

5. Family Photos- I am a huge fan of having family photos all around the house. Sometimes I have to cut myself off because I want to hang every good picture we have. You can make an area look cluttered by having too many, but if you do it right, you can make a great statement!

4. Lamps and Lighting- I love having lamps on and no overhead lighting. It makes a room calm and inviting. Lamps are one of my favorite things to buy and decorate a room with.

3. A blanket on the couch- I love wrapping up in a blanket when I am hanging out on the couch. I keep a blanket on both couches in my den. Not everyone stays as cold as I usually do, but something about having a blanket on a chair or sofa is very inviting. Too bad my dogs think the same thing! We had to get them a blanket of their own.

2. A place to sit a drink down- When I go to watch TV or sit down with my laptop, I have a glass of tea or coke with me. Having a table near by to sit my drink on is a must. Putting coasters out on the table is a good way to let guest know that it is okay to have a drink in that room. Coasters aren't always the most "stylish" thing to have out, so I did a little research and found a few that hopefully you will love.

1. Have a place to put your feet up- I really want my home to feel comfortable to others. I love for my home to look good, but I also want you to feel like you can come in, plop down on the couch and put your feet up!
