- When you get home from work, set the oven timer for 15 or 20 minutes and go around the house cleaning and picking up. You will be amazed what you can get accomplished!
- Make a Schedule- I have divided up my rooms by the days in the week and try to tackle those rooms that day. If you stick to it (which is hard to do when you have a 4month old) it really helps keep the house cleaner!
- Always start at the top of the room and work your way down.
- A house that smells fresh will give the impression of cleanliness. Leave baking soda on the carpet over night to absorb odors and vacuum the next morning.
- Run your sponges through the dishwasher every few days and dispose of them every few weeks. They breed bacteria because they do not get the opportunity to dry out between uses.
- Steam helps loosen the build- up, so clean while your in the shower or right after.
- Don't forget to clean door knobs and switch plates- we touch those everyday!
- To help keep the toilet clean while you're away, pour 1/4 cup bleach and leave it until you return.
- Keep the toilet ring free by pouring half- gallon of white vinegar in it once a month. Let it soak over night before flushing.
- Rub shower doors with white a vinegar dampened sponge to remove soap scum.
- To help the bathroom smell better, place a fabric softener sheet in the bottom of the trash can.
