Homemade Gift Tags

If you are anything like me, I always forget to attach a gift card to my gifts and usually scramble to find something around the house. I decided last weekend to make a few out of left over scrapbook paper and card stock. I actually had a lot of fun making these and some of them actually turned out pretty cute! The pictures aren't great because I took them with my phone, but you get the idea. It was free and that is the best part!

Window Treatments

Window treatments can really make or break a room. If done right, they can add warmth, texture and sophistication to any room. However, covering naked windows can not only be tricky but expensive. My blog friend "The Nester" (if she were to ever read this she would say, I am???) does a great job of dressing her windows in an effortless and extremely cost effective way. Plus she understands the importance of placement with the curtain rod and fabric (i.e. the rod should be above the window trim or even better - at the ceiling - and the curtains should block as little of the view when opened as possible). Click on over to her site to see what I mean.

Here are a collection of some of my favorites:

If I had a bed like this I would be all over this idea.

She got a great deal on fabric and is literally using those little 3M Velcro stickies to hold it in place.

Go here to see how it was done.
